Journey Further Ministries
Soul Discipleship Program

We believe that Jesus shows up uniquely in our stories in the context of community. The Journey Further Soul Discipleship Program is an amazing opportunity to enter your story and uncover what it means to be God's beloved in a safe place with caring leaders and other participants. This nine month program will help you connect to Jesus and care for your soul. Our Journey participants are women in all seasons of life desiring healing, wholeness, identity and purpose.

We offer three 9 month Cohort Paths to choose from that run concurrently. Ideally, each cohort group will move through their chosen 9 month program together, forming safe spaces to grow and go deeper. Each cohort begins with course '101 - Journey to God' and each course prepares you for the next.  To get the most out of this program, participants are unable to skip courses and must complete the program in its entirety.

Cohorts are limited to seven Journey participants. The cost for the in person Journey Further program is a one time fee of $300 per person (a $60 savings) or $40 monthly for 9 months. This includes all books, materials, resources, and retreat fees: lodging and some meals. If you're not local to the San Antonio, Texas area, we offer an online Zoom option at a lower cost of $200 or $28.89 monthly for 9 months, and does NOT include the retreat fee (valued at $100). You may choose to travel to attend Selah Retreat locally, at an extra cost ($100) not included in your program fee. Our zoom offering is taught live from the San Antonio, Texas area in the CST time zone.

Included in this program, at no cost, are two 60 minute Spiritual Direction sessions (valued at $120 per session).

Pick the cohort that works best with your schedule and enjoy the journey with us!

101 - JOURNEY
TO GOD

We begin our Journey considering our perceptions of God’s character and comparing those beliefs with the truths Jesus revealed. Using The Good and Beautiful God, we will spend six weeks learning to trust God’s good, loving, generous, faithful, forgiving, holy, and self sacrificing character. Knowing God intimately provides the foundation for personal healing and the vital trust needed for your journey to wholeness.

102 - JOURNEY
TO PROMISE

In this class we will learn about the spirituality and science of Attachment Theory, and how our attachments to others affects our attachment to God

With our security in the loving Presence of our tender, compassionate, and fully engaged God, we will have the courage to look back on the painful parts of our stories. In this six week module, we will savor The Emmanuel Promise as a resource for strengthening our sense of God's constant and loving presence in our lives.

We will also introduce some new and life giving spiritual practices and have the opportunity to engage in them together.

103 - SELAH RETREAT

Take a weekend to silence all that does not echo His heart. Jesus says, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Then come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis.” (Matt. 11:28).

Located on five  acres in the Texas Hill Country, Selah is a time to engage in meaningful spiritual practices and reflection exercises both in quiet stillness, and with a small group of women.

104 - JOURNEY BEGINS

These nine weeks are a healing journey where you explore your unique story and find what's deep in your heart. You will look at your past in a safe environment while being reminded that God can take all your story, redeem it and bring meaning to your life. You will be encouraged to develop hope for the season of life you are in and for what is to come.

105 - SELAH SOUL CARE SATURDAY

Halfway through the program, we will meet for half a day on Saturday to check in with each other. We will "encourage one another and build each other up" as we spend time in prayer for each Journey participant.

Our souls need rest and refreshment, and on this day, we will create time for this by engaging in spiritual practices, worship, and creative arts.

106 - JOURNEY FURTHER

In these nine weeks, you will explore ways you show up in your present relationships and life circumstances. Often we respond to others out of wounded places in our hearts. This is our "false self" showing up. God wants more for you. You will explore if continual wounding is coming from not living from this place of freedom and purpose.

We will deepen our learning of Attachment Theory and work towards healing and securely attaching to God. We hope at the conclusion of the class you will celebrate the fullness of what God has for you.

107 - JOURNEY
TO YOU

During these nine weeks, you will explore the unique way God has created you as His child. Using the Enneagram as our guide, we will help you understand your attainable strengths and possible weaknesses.

You will come to see That these qualities are unique to you. You will journey from knowing your personality type to growing in wholeness and confidence in who you are, for the purpose of attaching you to God and to others.

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Guided by a Spiritual Director, you will explore your spiritual journey. They will meet you where you are and will prayerfully encourage you to deepen your relationship with Jesus in a private and intimate setting.

Spiritual Direction is a reflective process that helps you discern and respond to the spiritual movements in your life offering greater meaning in your walk with Jesus. A Spiritual Director will provide a personal one-on-one sacred space to explore and experience the presence of Jesus leading you to greater purpose and connection in your life.

FREEDOM PRAYER

You will experience a safe and guided time of prayer where you meet Jesus right where you are. The process of Freedom Prayer usually involves asking for God's intervention in areas of life where one feels bound or stuck, offering forgiveness, and allows you to experience emotional release and healing.

This time of prayer may also open you up to experience freedom from  patterns of sin, addiction, or negative thoughts that hinder spiritual and personal growth.

Participant Agreement

This agreement outlines the expectations and commitments of each participant in the nine month Journey Further Ministries program. By joining this group, I agree to the following:

1. Confidentiality

I agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of all group members. Anything shared within the group—whether in meetings, assignments, or communications—will remain within the group and will not be disclosed to anyone outside the group without explicit permission from those involved.

2. Completion of Assignments

I commit to completing all assignments, activities, and exercises as outlined in the program curriculum to the best of my ability and by the designated deadlines.

3. Program Fees

I agree to pay all required program fees in full and on time (unless scholarshiped), as outlined by the program administrators. I understand that failure to do so may result in limited access to group activities or removal from the program.

4. Conflict Resolution

I agree to first attempt to resolve any interpersonal conflict with another group member privately, in a respectful and constructive manner. If the issue cannot be resolved between us, I agree to bring the concern to a group leader or mentor for guidance and assistance in resolving the matter collaboratively.

5. Attendance

I agree to make every attempt to not miss more than 2 classes in any section of the program. Because each group is built around shared learning, reflection, and meaningful connection, consistent attendance is an important part of the experience. To help cultivate an environment of trust and safety within each cohort, participants may miss no more than three class sessions in each of the five courses.

If you anticipate that your current season of life or schedule may make regular attendance difficult, we encourage you to consider joining a future cohort when you're able to participate more fully. We want you to receive the greatest benefit from the program while also helping create a supportive and connected experience for the entire group.

Acknowledgment

I have read and understand the expectations outlined above as a participant in Journey Further Ministries programming. By signing this agreement, I commit to upholding these responsibilities as a member of this group.
